I'm 5-7 and 170 lbs. Didn't realize I was such a fat ass. If I lost 40 lbs. I'd look anorexic.

Hmm I have the 5 foot 6 part down but dammit having so much muscle on the Greek god like body is hindering me from climbing strong. Damn you genetics, damn you.

It is significant that the most famous "tall" climber is Dean Potter, who excels at crack climbing, which actually favors reach much more than scrunchy Euro 8c spot routes do.

Does that mean Andrew would be a 5.14 Trad climber if he started climbing trad again? BTW, I think Andrew should go as Anthony Davis for Halloween, they kind of look a like.

Yet another reason why grades are a poor indicator of specific difficulty. The smaller the holds, the smaller your ass needs to be.

How many hefty people train on the c3 and c4 crimps on the MoonBoard? :)

Andrew, there is also an article that shows the smaller the length of your arm, the less force it takes to keep it locked. Think Carlo Traversi as an extreme example.

my normal weight is 175 and i use them. the problem there - in my experience - is discomfort. hanging once isn't bad, but 'training' definitely thrashes my tips. brah.
