First Ascent: Laban Swaford in 2005
Length: 50ft

This route ascends the striking and featureless arete on the wall forming the left side of the notch. Pull over a small overhang to reach up to the bald arete. Continue up the arete until the bolts force you left onto the face. Move past a few troublesome bulges on the face to reach the anchors.

I believe John Shrader got the FA off this route in 2003, and it's called Dirty Sanchez.

It is called Dirty Sanchez, but I think Laban Swaford got the FA, and nose ring Joe bolted it

why in the guidebook is this route called gunsight arete?

Because Jonathan's comment wasn't posted until after I wrote the Farside section in the book.

The bolting on this rig is a bit scary. Kinda felt like the bolter didn't know where the climbing was. Or maybe I was off-route the whole time.
