Loved it. One very balancy move about half way up and alot of moves that end in very rewarding holds. There are no hands rest along the way. Thanks you, ladies.

if the overwhelming majority vote .10a how is the consensus 9+? anyone explain this?...not really a huge deal...more interested in the actual calculations. great route though...regardless of number

I'm just taking a wild guess here.. but if you say 10a=10, 9=9.5, and 9-=9.25, add up all the votes, and take the average, you get 9.875, which would be 9+.

As Kris notes, the math is easy. The intersting point is that if you have 100 10a's and 1 5.9+, his math puts the average at a 5.9+, which I assume is Petey's confusion.

Yup, just like one B will eff up a 4.0 GPA forever. Some things you just can't get back. It's kind of romantic, really.

The average is right at 13.5 which equates to 5.9+. One more 5.10a vote or higher and it will bring it to 5.10a. I'll post the code in the forum so you know how the grade concensus is computed.

ok, next one to vote on the grade(you've only got one vote ya know)go for 10b. that'll bring it right back in line.

8+ according to the FA team. This concensus crap is bullshit. We need more sandbags

Just curious as to why you think the Red needs more sandbags? Is Team Wilson not enough? This thing was way harder than 5.8+.

To balance out the soft ratings at Muir? For sheer entertainment value? Or perhaps it is just nostalgia? Old school 5.8+ is about 5.10a. Maybe all of the above.

yawn on "old skool"..I am assuming "old skool" means in the 1970's or earlier...any of you even climbing then? I wasn't. also, the whole "muir is soft" thing is soooo over played.......usually comes from those who are too soft to make the uphill hike both ways to sample the good stuff.

The 10b vote has been cast, and I've even been in sandbag mode lately! Not a bad little route, I would think it would be pretty scary though if 10- is at your limit.

it's 5.9~+. the red doesn't need sandbags nearly as much as some quality beginner/intermediates. voila.
