How does this route get a 5.12a rating if all three people who rated it said 5.12?

After I sent, a bit later a friend did it and told me he did more direct beta, at 12a. I voted 12c since I didn't do it like him and only know how to do it the 12c way. If get on it again and find his 12a beta, I'll change my vote. Not sure about anyone else's vote.
