This route begins by climbing a faint crack system about 15 feet right of the previous route. A gimme 5.14 for those who spent the winter in Hueco. Hopefully that'll help give it some love. Remember though, Dave doesn't think it's 5.14. Will that detract the chasers? Let the games begin.
Moves: Bouldery

Don't think it's 5.14.

hello community. I am a travelling climber from Spain. I sent this climb this week but wanted to make sure I acquired the right sequence and stayed on route. Does this route start in the crack system? I'd like to propose a grade of 8a+/8b, which I think equates roughly to 5.13d USA...I am not climbing so strongly right now, so it might be easier.. thank you for sharing your Red with the world. cheers....Stephon

Hey Stephon! Great choice coming to the Red in August, our best season. Well done picking a crag that gets full sun! Psyched you flew halfway around the world to climb The Nothing and skipped all the other classics. Can’t wait to hang out with you and your lovely wife Michelle soon!

hello one-fall....I am in the States for a wedding in chicago this weekend, and was told red river climbing was the place to be. although the drive from chicago was not so fun, the climbing is indeed very beautiful here. I had asked for recommendations at Miguel's,and was told this route had just acquired new glue in bolts, and would be well cleaned. While not the best enduro climbing, I did enjoy the route. I was also told the visit motherload but only had 3 days to climb, and one of them was a rest day. did I meet you at drive by that day? my girlfriend's name is Josune if we met you that day. have you been on the Nothing?

After spending the last year working this and doing intense personal reflection while sitting on the ledge I have come to the conclusion that I cannot in good faith call this 14a. Stephon, you clearly have the experience at the grade to call it better than I. If and when I do send, I will take a personal grade of 8b. Thank you for wisdom.
