Re: A Very Special Announcement

For someone who's been a bit "out of it" for a while... where is this? "Somewhere in Lee County" isn't narrowing things down much. Is there a map of what is in the purchase?

Re: The road to Sore Heel...

how does the county feel about climbers destroying their roads, have we ever offered help As Phil said, this case was because of the rain. For awhile, Charmagne put time and money into helping with the roads and the RRGCC did help financially. So far, the county has developed a positive attitude to...

The building that a gym goes into is usually one of the hardest problems to solve if you want leadable walls. I wonder if this guy has identified one or more existing buildings with clear-to-structure heights of 35'+ or if he's budgeting to build a new purpose-built structure? Then there's zoning - ...

Re: Who does it belong to?

Ah, good old human nature. The standards for behavior for everyone are pretty clear, but yet there's always that selfish jerk who has to come in and drop piles of his shit in the way and screw everything up for the rest of us. I love how the issues at Torrent and the trolling of this thread form suc...

Re: How to make a 100 foot Frozen Waterfall, My gift to you!

Redirecting water where you can control the flow might help as well. There is a choke point about 40 feet from the edge that I can dam. If the water continues to flow at the rate that it is now, I'll do that. It seems like you want to make water flow when it's coldest - exactly the opposite of what...

Will we all be super glued to the bottoms of our own individual claw foot tubs and left in the wilderness two-by-two?

A highball cocktail glass is particularly tall? (Not as tall as a Collins glass - but calling dangerously high boulder problems "Colinses" doesn't work as well...)

North side of Chicago to the Shell Station ~420 miles each way. With stops for gas/relief/food ~7.5 hours depending on traffic each way.

I guestimate I've done it about 100 times round trip.

The other issue is that the road condition varies over time. Right after its been graded, a Prius may have little problem, but it does get into rough shape over time (e.g. small moguls - fun for skiing, sux for cars.) You may not be able to see the condition of the steep parts of the road before you...

Premium gas only? It's probably a moot point: What if you put regular gas in the car all the time and let the knock sensor do its job and retard the timing? You'd have a little less power, but that extra 8 bucks a fill up might be more important to you than power right now. It would be to us. It's ...

i think it's insulting that the chinese expected people to believe all their gymnasts were of age; developmentally, those girls are not old enough, intense training or not. i love how it's starting to turn into a race/culture thing, with chinese parents and coaches stating that it is their build, t...

And gating it in such a manner as to deny entry to the elderly, the handicapped, and the obese is despicable beyond description. Damn! If they are denying entry to "the obese" to a cave, that's just sick! Booooo! Natural Bridge sucks! Booooo! "Despicable beyond description" is too mild a criticism ...
