Re: The cove bouldering

Ya I saw them in indiana too. We picked the coldest spot to boulder at but it was epic. We built a landing out of wood, cleaned some holds, and established a beautiful dyno problem, so it was worth it.

Re: If you left your draw on the first bolt of the Suffering

Petzl also had an example pic of how if you clip a quickdraw upside down and take a swinging lead fall, you are way more likely to nose hook the biner (because the rubber insert being on the wrong side causes the caribiner to rotate where the nose is) and have it break on you.

Re: I forgot my stickclip at The Shire

Well at least I did the 10a direct start to it :p So I got one nice heel hook in for the day. I never did hear anything about my precious stickclip though. This time around I'm getting a Superclip, I swear I cracked the Squid the first second I got it. It has a design flaw where if you over-tighten ...

Re: Is everyone getting ready for fall?

Brentucky, I took your advice and I'm on a strictly junk food diet only. I think it has significantly helped me to already be back at Rocksport sending the 12s. Today I had a frosted donut (with sprinkles!!!) for breakfast, a cinnamon pretzel at the mall for lunch, and for dinner I had popcorn drenc...

I forgot my stickclip at The Shire

I left my stickclip at The Shire inside of the cave underneath the 5.8, It cost me $50. If someone extremely cool wants to do me a huge favor, can you please leave it at Miguels for me and also send me a pm letting me know. Thanks in advance.

Is everyone getting ready for fall?

Is everyone getting ready for fall? I sure am, been training smart. I did a ton of leg lift exercises yesterday and I think I overexerted myself;I went from a cold to bronchitis. O and I practically threw my back out. Of course my diet is on point; I had a Lean Cuisine and cake for lunch, the same c...

Re: Gumby Twinkie

Well I tried to do some climbing and my shoulder was jacked the next day, but at least I have this to show for it: I'm trying to incorporate skating and climbing, so in this photo I aimed to climb a skateboard and skate a mountain: http://i58.tinypic.com/f0w0o2.jpg . I don't have a wide angle lens a...

Re: Gumby Twinkie

Hey guys, well everything was going great, I was climbing the 12s at Rocksport and sent every boulder problem except for the two pinks. I think I even came close to onsighting a 12A at the Red (Magnum Opus), but I'm a wuss when it comes to warming up, and onsighting Air Ride proved to be a pretty ba...

Re: Best Routes for Really Really Really Short Climbers

Sorry, Muir: I'm sure your 1 year old could climb the 5.4 at Practice Wall, and the 5.5 next to it might be a cool challenge for him. Also your 1 year old would probably love the beginning of La Escalada at The Great Wall. The beginning is just a big easy 45 degree slab, and your 4 year old would su...

Let's go bouldering sometime redpoint, I spend too many weekends in Louisville I go 30 minutes in to Indiana a lot, I wish I had gone today. I'll be climbing at Cherokee Park a lot before the chiggers get there. O and I sent you a PM. i wasn't trying to be a dick. the Louisville 'bouldering' is rea...

Re: This might be a good place for Louisville boulderers

"no scary gut check" = the more fun you'll have. "no aesthetic draw" I think the place and the rock is beautiful myself. I even found Mountain Laurel around the boulder field, I think it has it's own micro climate. For instance, at the end of fall when all the leaves have fallen, the trees at this b...

Re: This might be a good place for Louisville boulderers

Na, the trolls at DPM are even worse than here. And hey I put a lot of thought in to that soundtrack; I heard Volbeat the other day on AT&T's cheesy rock channel, it said they even opened for Metallica once. I heard that Q Lazzarus song at the gym and thought it would be a good 80's song to put in a...
