Re: The anatomy of a overused crag?

In all fairness, some of the nastiest crags i have seen only have concentrations of 5.11 and harder routes. examples: bob marley and motherload have more shit and toilet paper than i have seen anywhere else (i am sure there are counter examples, but still).

Re: Gym Crushers

I agree that it has a lot to do with the mental aspect. It is amazing how much harder you can climb when you feel confident that you are safe. For whatever reason, people feel safer indoors. I guess the padded floors offer some security, but a ground fall from 30 feet up a gym route could still be d...

Re: Obed and Shade

Little Clear and Lily Bluff are the two best options I know of. The ledge at little clear isn't that bad, I have had my dogs up there before. You can walk down below the ledge very easily and skip the via ferrata like traverse. Plus the swimming there is awesome. The only downside is if it has been ...

like you said before, who says they ever went to sleep. meth heads can go days without sleep, and would need their morning fix to keep on chasing that dragon.

Re: Dog trail to Y12 in Obed

last time i was there (last summer) there was no sign for the y12 wall, you just had to know where to turn. the trail to the ladder was pretty obvious, and the trail to the gully was faint but visible. i think some people still use it. if your dog is very big then i wouldn't brave the ladder. you ha...

Re: Attire

not much of a jogger or a basketball player. it seems to me that climbing is different than either of those examples though. but even still, one piece of clothing can have many uses. for example, i can do just about anything in a pair of swimming trunks. swim (of course), run, jog, climb, hike, or m...

Re: Dog trail to Y12 in Obed

yes there is a way. i haven't been there in a while so my memory may not serve me as well as it once did. as i recall, when you are getting close to the end of the approach (the ladder) you will see a faint trail that branches off to the left, BEFORE you get to the trail (which also branches off to ...

Re: Attire

i didn't even know wearing jeans climbing was cool. people used to make fun of me for it all the time. but the notion of buying "climbing clothing" always seemed stupid and unecessary to me. i already owned jeans, so it seemed a simple enough solution to me.

Re: Climbing Porn - What Gets you EXCITED?

nothing is really doing it for me anymore. back in the day, climbing movies were few and far between, and everyone i saw really got me going! but now they are a dime a dozen, with new ones appearing on videoclimb.com and DPM daily! the only thing that does it for me these days are videos of climbs t...
