Re: Poverty and Rock Climbing
375k doesn't sound like such a bad price to not have meth dealers as neighbors and not have a drive to work that is literally longer than the drive from Lexington TO the red. And no the article is not FAKE NEWs, it is simply just someone's opinion piece even if I don't agree with a lot of what they ...

Re: Poverty and Rock Climbing
Good points! I know plenty of people who make far less than me who lease $50,000 pick up trucks just to commute in. The they always say "You never know when yur gonna need to tow sumthin'". The other day I was reading an article about Ky https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2017-01-19/get-rich-sa...

Re: Poverty and Rock Climbing
For one, that section in the guidebook is funny as shit and I laughed when I read it. You know what is a fuck ton more expensive than a set of quickdraws? A purpose built Polaris RAZR 4x4 dune buggy that costs more than a new car! Granted many of those people probably aren't from Slade proper either...

Re: Call for Submissions: In the RED
Haha yup on the way into Miller? When I was 16 I backed over a kitten outside Daniel Boone store and my nickname became "kitten killer" that summer. Don't worry I felt bad about it, I didn't become a psychopath until years later.Cromper wrote:I ran over a cat in front of the cat lady's house once.

Re: RRGCC Purchase #3 - 1161 Acres and counting
That is seriously an amazing purchase, thanks to everyone at the the RRGCC for your work! The cliffs that make up the chocolate factory, the lode, and bear's den are as good as rock climbing gets in the known world! I was just curious about the extent of the area covered by the purchase. Is it all t...

Re: Agonizingly Close....
That dirty arete looks pretty good in the picture Cromper. The face to the right looks promising too! After a great season of clipping bolts I got a little cocky and thought I'd do a nice little lap up Rite of Passage (it's only 5.9 right?). I climbed the initial lieback with flawless dawn wall tech...

If you haven't already claimed your missing item, I'm sure whoneedsfeet has found a way to debase and defile it beyond repair. Even if it is just a quickdraw...

Re: Sorting in Spray??
Good question, I've always wondered this as well. There is no better way to procrastinate than to take an hour or three to bask in your own spray-glory. New projects are daunting and hard, reminiscing about victorious sends is the way go!

Yeah, he must be. That is very typical example of Canadian recklessness.

"The type of test-piece routes that climbing’s elite whisper about among themselves".
That line had me laughing. If by whispering they mean updating instagram before their belayer gets them to the ground then yes.

Re: Motherlode Hill
The road up to the coal bank parking is starting to get gnarly, lots of people parking below it on Sunday. My favorite part is that after waiting for a ford focus to not be able to get up the hill, some people come down the steep section the opposite direction, proceed to roll down their window and ...

Re: Change to Muir Valley Parking Policy
Over the years I have often thought that a parking fee like this would be a reasonable and a great thing for Muir Valley. On nice weekends it is always insane how full that parking lot can get and it often makes you want to just turn around and find somewhere else to climb. The $10 pass is not going...
