Re: ROADSIDE IS NOT OPEN - IT IS CLOSED
If the so-called climbing community doesn't have the moxie to deplore this act of stupidity then I can assure you Roadside will be closed for all eternity. If we are quickly notified of the identity of the person(s) who did this, then there is a chance it might be opened on a limited basis, which w...

I'm going to guess the cool kids on the "inside" are a little busy to go bolting routes.

Re: Hiking Beta
Well, the $5 has been decided in my pack to be worth it. Eases the approach a bit and gives a safer location to leave your car. I'm assuming Tuckett or whatever the hell his last name is out.

Re: Ye Olde Booty Thread
John Long route left of Rock Wars.
Ran out of #1's to protect. After about 20ft. of bumping my last one I decided a bail anchor would be better than a 40ft. pendulum fall.
1 Black tricam
1 new BD #8 Stopper
6mm cordelette slung through horn
3 Oval biners
Happy hunting!

Re: Epic on Fox Fire
Sounds like you zigged when you should have zagged. Totally missed the BVD Traverse. Shoulda went left after pitch 2. Crawl the ledge around left and the rest woulda been obvious. Pitch 2 and 5 are the best ones.

Re: need trad partner for march 30 - april 6
Might help to put up the grade you are comfortable climbing. If you can link up with someone to do Foxfire that's about the best multi-pitch. It like Full Moon likes big gear though so runout comfort could be a factor.

Re: The ongoing weekend idiot report
I had a grigri lock up on me once. So tight I was afraid the handle was going to snap off when I tried to open it. Weighed 210 at the time but it was a self belay on TR so wasn't even much of a fall.
