I've climbed on all those. Even pulled one out, looked at it, put it back in, clipped it, and kept on climbing. It was going to be vertically loaded...safer than a lot of gear I've placed. *grin*

As we've seen a lot lately, owner's minds are subject to change...keep that in mind as you decide what to do.

Re: ACCESS TO ROADSIDE - closed unttil further notice
...anyone reasoning on this site that climbing should be closed in the RRG is not a friend. Sigh...I never said that it should be closed. I've loved it and climbed there a lot longer than most who post here. I'm pointing out that we all should be aware that the idea is there, and it becomes more of...

Re: ACCESS TO ROADSIDE - closed unttil further notice
Reading the responses to my last post this morning, I felt like I was on Topix. I get it--you are afraid--and we all should be. You say I'm hysterical, but ask a neutral observer to read through my posts and yours, and ask them who seems hysterical. You say I provide fodder for the Forest Service, b...

It doesn't matter what I think about the impact. It doesn't matter what you think about the impact. It does matter what the owners think about the impact. As for the rest of the Gorge--I'm constantly amazed that we are still allowed to climb there. After all, the base of every cliff is potentially a...

Make the Gorge a better place
One of the most difficult realizations in life is that some problems have no good solutions. Having said that, I think that the problems we climbers have here have not reached that level--yet--but we're getting close. There have been some good suggestions.
