Re: Favorite Slab/Balancy routes

yellow brick road is great. It has the bonus of being the only route at the red not under the canopy. Some of the other techy off vert routes to the right of it were fun too.

Re: When are we going to see trad 5.15c?

Sure it exists. All you'd need is a v14 or whatever section above a crack.

Could there be a 15c crack? It's hard to imagine... maybe a long fingers roof?

Re: Potrero Chico news

Sounds cool. The single pitch is a plus. Most of the multis I did at potrero felt like low quality trad routes. DIdn't try any of the harder ones though.

Re: Potrero Chico news

How is El Salto? Seen photos and it looks much more appealing than the Potrero, which I didn't really care for. How many routes at ES?

The Clymb sucks. Get the same rope here for $80 shipped. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Edelweiss-Rocklight-9-8-mm-X-60-M-Dynamic-Climbing-Rope-Yellow-/150975071735?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14133%26meid%3D5062236624231186616%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D108...

Use them all the time. Two mini-traxions Chest harness/slings DMM Master Carabiner for the top mini steel biner for bottom mini static rope/10.5 bomber anchor at top weight bottom of rope with bag daisy chain prussiks ipod No overhanging routes, too much of a hassle. That's pretty intense. I use on...

Mike Doyle resting position *, * http://mikedoyle.ca/climbing/coachingdoc_7.shtml#SEC30 check out section 7.2 second to last paragraph. A good tip is to use the rope itself to take the weight off your hands. If it is possible to make a clip above you and downclimb to the rest without too much diffi...

Re: Accept Apotheosis or Downgrade

Offering an opinion of a route grade is healthy for climbing. One guys opinion does not make a down or up grade, but if they have the chops it certainly can influence things. Opinions are good things and give us something to yammer about. It's good to see that the Red is now the best spot in the WOR...

Re: Ondra Patrol

Ok, so one thing that is cool about climbing is that we can rub shoulders with the world's best athletes. We all participate in the same arena so to speak. What other sports can you do that in? All the fanboi stuff and facebook page creation will put an end to that. Keep climbing poor, weird and st...

Re: Ondra Patrol

I'm embarrassed for you guys. I wonder if the Spanish teenagers stand around and go OMG SHARMA!!! Then the guy floats one of your best routes and calls it a boring jug haul. Hey wait... you know who else did that? Sharma! And then you put him on the cover of the guide book. Standing around gawking a...
