Re: Trail Maintenence and Power Tools

I extended the motherlode bridge last time. I've been planning on extending again. Just haven't had time. I'll try to do that in the next week or two unless someone else wants to do it.

Re: PDs at Lode

The obvious compromise is to put the good steel gear back up on the steep difficult to clean routes(resurrection left) and leave the worn old gear off.

Re: PDs at Lode

Wish I could have been there. Maintenance and sustainability are my two concerns for the permadraws. I'm tired of getting on routes and there being 50% or more of the gear being unsafe or at least hard on your rope. Then I feel obligated to replace the gear and spend fifty or so dollars to get it in...

Re: The Road to Sore Heel

Considering that the parking lot was overflowing last weekend, I don't think it's keeping too many people out. Also you can park at the top of the hill and walk in. Same as going to Muir and walking in to the solarium.

Re: Climbing Gym

Here we go again indeed. New large gym opens and puts old small gym out of business. New large gym goes out of business because overhead was to high and was destined to failure. Back to climbing on woodies in garages. Deja vu?

Re: Bolts

You can get them at kwik-set in Lexington for less than $2 each. Bringing cash and your negotiating ability will determine your final price. Also if you buy there regularly your more likely to get a better price.

Re: Miguels raising money for steel

Bill Ramsey took that same fall in the Video 'Naskarma' back when he and Manboy were trying to see who could get closer to the ground. Also i think I put a steel biner on the second and third to last on Omaha a year ago.

Re: Developing at a wall being developed

It really comes down to courtesy and respect. The more courteous and respectful you are the more trouble you would go through to find the original developer. When I'm developing I don't feel like a line is "mine" until I have anchors on it. However if I find a cliff with ongoing development I just k...

Re: Quickdraws on 'Zen and the Art of Masturbation'

It's amazing how long my personal draws last now that I never use them. I miss the days when only half the Undertow Wall was fixed. I was guaranteed to have half the routes with no one on them.
