Re: Rockhouse Burglarized
have all the recent break ins occurred at the lode parking lot? the camera sounds like a great idea. I don't know how they'd feel about this but I wonder if a group got together and gave 5 or 10 bucks each to purchase a camera and then donate it to the RRGCC who could use it for this reoccuring pro...

I think a crossbow would be more effective. nothing like fighting ignorance and violence with ignorance and violence do you think a protest would be better?........gay oh yes, getting combative and aggressive are always the best way to solve things, especially with redneck methheads who have who kn...

Re: Rockhouse Burglarized
does anyone know if a car with an alarm has been broken into in the Southern Region? I don't live in the area anymore, but I never had an issue and I wonder if it was due to the alarm (with it's blinking red dash light) that made thieves decide to pass on mys car or if i just got lucky. if i was bre...

Re: Partner needed this weekend (8/12-8/14)
Dustonian makes a good point. the best way to get good climbing partners is becoming part of the climbing community and a trail day is a great way to get to know the locals. a day of trail work, a night of good food and music and a good day of climbing on sunday

Re: Deliberate Practice
At the start of my third year in the Red I started running out of 11's to do so, rather than commanding my partners to climb where I had stuff to do all the time (I certainly did it part of the time, thanks y'all) Worded too unceremoniously given that it gave me harrowing flashbacks of climbing wit...

Re: Deliberate Practice
when i decided that I wanted to train for my project, I trained my weaknesses with respect to the route. I got fit before I got on it and then once I got on it and realized that my endurance was my limiting factor, I focused on improving my endurance by doing 30 minute treadwall sessions and increas...

Re: Deliberate Practice
When i moved to Lexington I decided that I needed to build a solid base of climbing skills before trying to progress to the next level. (At the risk of sounding like Redpoint, I got this idea largely from Eric Horst training books although I took it to an extreme). To develop my base, I decided to c...

Re: Top roping... When pull the rope?
getting on routes that are above your ability has always bugged me. I don't understand why people prefer to flail on routes way to hard for them instead of working something they can do. this actually is like the point i made above about developing your abilities. becoming a solid 5.11 climber is g...

Re: Top roping... When pull the rope?
if people want to lead, i think they should start leading early. when they can top rope 10a's they should start leading 5.8s. when they do 10+ on TR they should move into 9's and easy 10's. by the time people are breaking into the 12s they should be leading exclusively. people need to build their le...

Re: @crossroads b4 boilerplate
it can share anchors but it shouldn't. the last couple moves to an obvious stance are pretty cool and getting around the corner to the other anchors is awkward.
