Bake delicious brownies. Enough to share. 2. Drop them at the festival site Saturday before dinner. We'll take one from the ...

Re: Muir Valley Request

That literally took less than one minute via pay-pal. I think we all have at least one minute and ten bucks.

Re: Jumars on dynamic rope

Aid climbers jug dynamic lead lines on every pitch of a route. The only thing you really need to watch is dynamic lines will abrade faster (as compared with static) when repeatedly moved up and down over a lip/edge/whatever. Therefore you need to be more careful about padding edges over which your r...

To clarify, in case you stop by, RockSport Louisville currently has an evaluation copy, not actual books for sale. Rob said he'd have books in "later this week or early next".

Often was a poor choice of words. FF2 falls do SOMETIMES happen. For anyone really concerned, this doc is a much better resource than the vid: http://www.itrsonline.org/Papers/2009/Holden-May-Farnham2009_ITRSPaper.pdf It is a report on the usefulness of using dummies in drop tests. Their conclusion ...

Before everyone cries out chicken little, notice that under the standard CE/ UIAA tests, the mass does not deform appreciably (i.e. it's a big block of concrete with a bolt in it). Your body, however, is not a big block of concrete. The test would likely be very different for a 80kg dummy made out o...

Kool Aid

Has anyone been on this route? The online guide is a little sparse for info, and the crack looks like it totally closes down leaving a pretty long run-out to the ledge. Otherwise it's one of the most aesthetic finger cracks I've seen in the red.

The Friends of Indian Creek and the Access Fund were distributing this video for a while a couple of years ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qef2Od-DTaI They also have wag-bag stations with donation boxes around the canyon. Perhaps a wag bag station/donation box very very near the motherload crag ...

Black Diamond Haul Bag $50

Selling a Black Diamond Stubby haul bag for $50. It is two years old, has been up two walls, and has been used as a crag bag. It has no holes, and is in good condition, though there are scratch marks and some abrasion, but the damage is almost entirely cosmetic. This bag has many years of life left ...

I was climbing at tower on Sunday and was stopped on the approach by a Ranger. He warned our group not to hike near the Frog's Head/Indian Staircase area as there was a large forest fire above and below the cliff line. They inferred that it was the result of an untended campfire. Many sections of tr...
