Re: ReBolting the Mother Lode

Re: ACCESS TO ROADSIDE - closed unttil further notice
Even better is when the humans go out to take a shit or piss, come back, then begin climbing the route you were about to get on with the hands they just wiped with. Oh, then they open their mouths and begin talking blah blah blah blah blah blah. Fucking humans. I just get mad when they start leg hu...

Re: Reducing the Impact: Brainstorming
rip the bolts off of everything under 5.10 that would thin in out quite a bit. So, now instead of the masses top-roping the 7's through 10's, they would be stick clipping up the 11's and then even failing more miserably. absolutely, other then the approach trail traffic what does the 7 wall crowd a...

Re: Reducing the Impact: Brainstorming
Me in one will totally offset the entire female climbing population. I'm thinking gorilla suit ,but without pants running around the parking with a case of the runs. if that doesn't clear things out, I'll start humping cars, screaming something about air born warts. In seriousness, posting and makin...

Re: ACCESS TO ROADSIDE - closed unttil further notice
most of the dog problems you listed are eliminated or reduced by leashing your dog. Barking and digging takes training but even an unruly dog is less of an issue tied up. plus running your dog in an open area before showing to the clif helps a lot.

I'd do about the same thing caribe, not as much work as either of them but a limited parking lot and land around my residence marked off.

the new trail is a million times better then the old one.caribe wrote: Climbers busted grapes at Roadside trail days recently. I just don't think this forum has been very fair to Mike Driskell for one, who organized the trail day and to the volunteers who accomplished a shit ton of work at RS.

Re: ACCESS TO ROADSIDE - closed unttil further notice
Yeah...we know this access shit is for real. Torrent wasn't enough. why yes we are: it has been determined that it is always the "other" climbers that cause problems, and never me. it has been determined that we as climbers ignore issues until someone hits us over the head, and then we complain but...

Re: ACCESS TO ROADSIDE - closed unttil further notice
I'm sure you could figure out a way to break even on the deal, and delegate all tasks to somebody else. If you think the land, and the horde of new climbers are all going to manage/police themselves then you are living in a dream world. You can sperge about the climbing community all you want, but ...

Re: ACCESS TO ROADSIDE - closed unttil further notice
The rovers issue especially @ roadside and other areas in the RRG is a little more "long term problem"... I've never been a fan of dogs @ the crags and it seems to be an issue in more areas than just the roadside/torrent/muir...almost all owners seem to play the "my dog is cool" and "i'm going to b...

a lot of non profits have revenue. it just needs to be reinvested, IANAA (I am not an accountant)Meadows wrote:Who will monitor the parking lot? The USFS has paid staff to monitor theirs, but is it worth it to private owners to pay someone to monitor? And can a non-profit make profit on parking?
