Re: I have a suggestion for the problem, just my opinon

I was too late. Skynet has won. Run for the bunkers!

Or is it the Russians trying to sabotage spring in the Red? Fuckers.

I have a suggestion for the problem, just my opinon

Seems like bots have infiltrated. Might be time to burn it down Ray. Better that than Skynet take over.

Re: Does This One Make It Five Guidebooks?

I like that it's (Best of the Red) the thousand route "Greatest Hits" which in my crusty old brain translates to: we left out all the trad.

Re: Lower Gorge Access with New Road

Two popular crags are affected: Muscle Beach and Dip Wall. Other than those two the driving and approach trail directions should still work. For Muscle Beach you park in the same spot, cross the creek on the boulders just upstream of the parking area, and parallel the creek downstream looking for a ...

Re: Go get lost.....

I'm pretty sure Squirrel Nut Zipper was a route I did in 2003. Big tree at the bottom? A friable splitter to the left? Both end at a ledge?

Re: Poverty and Rock Climbing

I don't know anyone who lives off the land. People hunt, but I wouldn't classify that as living off the land considering most of them are fat slobs who ate at Hardee's before going out, rode a four-wheeler into the woods, struggled to haul their fat asses into a tree stand, shot the deer with a high...

Re: Poverty and Rock Climbing

For one, that section in the guidebook is funny as shit and I laughed when I read it. You know what is a fuck ton more expensive than a set of quickdraws? A purpose built Polaris RAZR 4x4 dune buggy that costs more than a new car! Granted many of those people probably aren't from Slade proper eithe...

Re: Call for Submissions: In the RED

I've heard the Dick Doctor story (top notch), but never the My Bro Just Sent Twinkie story. Any way an entertaining summary can be provided here? Anybody know when this story happened? Just wondering cause I might know the guy and his boy. I had some local friends who used to knock around the gorge...

Re: Call for Submissions: In the RED

So while we’re at it, I’ll tell my best Phantasia story. I worked for Jim at Natural Heights. The ending of that story was ugly, and what I’m about to tell was the beginning of the end, but this was when Natural Heights was still somewhat viable as a business and we were all relatively happy providi...

Re: Poverty and Rock Climbing

Haha, I don't care much for that guidebook author. I wouldn't climb with him if he was the only belay slave left on the planet. Just kidding Ray...don't ban me! As a biological local to the area and not just a climbing local I have mixed feelings about the article. I appreciate that the author was t...
