Knee Stability Exercises

I've been googling it a bit, and I have a few, but I know we have some physical therapists/doctors on here, so I thought I'd ask: Anybody know any good knee stability exercises? I've been running more lately and my left knee has been acting up a lot, and I figured I'd try to strengthen the supportin...

Re: Call for Stories

I rolled my ankle outward to the ground 3 years ago. I now have a nice cyst on top of my ankle and it still hurts today. I hope this inspires you.

I'm always optimistic on what I'm capable of, but 20 years of failing starts to wear you down.

Re: guidebooks for utah climbing

maple's pretty cool. I recall Logan canyon being the slickest limestone I've ever climbed on...I wouldn't recommend it. American fork was pretty good. Little cottenwood canyon is good. Big cottonwood canyon not as good. Also lots of decent small crags up in the Uintas if you want to escape the heat ...

What is your crag list of the softest grades, to the hardest? Example: Softest to hardest... Jacks Canyon, Az RRG Red Rocks NRG Rifle Heh, I haven't been to all those areas, but from my experience, here is the true rundown of climbing grades, from softest to hardest: Potrero 5.10 Maple 12a Solarium...

Re: How long was it before you sent your first 5.12?

I started climbing around 1989, Mostly top rope. I believe I did my first 12 on TR around 1997. My first 12 sport was in 2001. My first 12d was last year... Don't listen to the haters on this forum. Set a goal and stick to it. Just focus on your weaknesses. If your weakness is power/strength, then d...

Re: Advice on beginning Trad

read john long's anchors, and how to climb.

Then buy a set of nuts and a few cams, and practice placing gear at the base of climbs, and then hanging on them. After you do that for a bit, go out with somebody who knows trad and do something well under your limit.

This is why large spacing between bolts 1, 2 and 3 bother me. One bolt failure and you're fucked up.

Re: Help from the boulderers out there . . .

Can't comment on most, but:

Start of iniquity: v3 the first time I tried it (pre-FA), then a hold broke, and it became v4. Then another foot nubbin broke, and I think it was v5, no idea what it is now.
Ro - v3
tic tac toe - v4

I hit that wall anytime I take 2-3 weeks off.

I also hit that wall anytime I get fat.

And I also hit that wall anytime I get flash pumped. Do more warmups.
