Re: Bolts: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

I hope some better opinionated folks step up and speak, but the only ones that "so far" make me personally not climb a route are the really rusty ones.

Re: Rebolting Effort Details - Yank the Mank!

Thanks for sharing all those pics, dustonian. It is awesome to get to see the work that you all you bolters and rebolters do and you should be damn proud of it! I actually look forward to being able to climb Flush now, too. Those bolts were beyond sketchy. Big thanks to all you folks!!!

Re: Route Recommender

Butane Junky is my favorite within the past several months, and maybe more. It has very unique movements, and it is fun to watch strong people get worked on it. It is listed as slab, and while it leans in, it is really just technical/bouldery with rests everywhere, and there is no superhuman strengt...

Re: Rebolting Effort Details - Yank the Mank!

Game on! I'll put $25 in the bank for someone who will match me. Any takers? I've got your match, Artsay. Thanks for the offer, and thanks to all the folks out there doing the work! I still need points for "Flush," but those bolts are too scary for a falling gumby like me to climb on. I'll be one o...

Re: Sport trad?

As long as the top-ropers are unclipping as they go then it is a legit TR send. If they are climbing past pre-unclipped gear then they truly are gumballs.

Re: Accept Apotheosis or Downgrade

Grades apparently are representative of a "region" and the opinions of those who climb in it. Adam O. has climbed a shit ton of 9a's around the world. I'm going to assume he probably has a pretty good idea of how they feel in different parts of the world, and I bet he could point at some consensus 9...

Re: Ondra Patrol

Sounds to me like people need to stop leaving tick marks. On second thought, tick them up as good as AWOL, and then there is no way in hell even the mutants could send in one attempt! What's done is done though, and it is impressive as hell. Dusting, I'm afraid that Adam O. might fall asleep on Scar...

Re: Sucking at Torrent Falls- Bare Metal Teen

sussing out the micro-differences between 12's. how quaint. I was just thinking the same thing..this is how us wee peasants play da game... more frightening to me is that brentucky has an obsession with checking on people's spray lists, and when he calls to go climbing, the first sentence out of hi...

Re: Sucking at Torrent Falls- Bare Metal Teen

I don't know... I don't find that move that hard on Freakin Deacon. But long dynamic throws to good holds is my bread and butter. So if that move isn't that hard, then why is your name not on the spray list? The rest of the climb is pretty mellow. It could be I just didn't find the appropriate beta...

Re: Sucking at Torrent Falls- Bare Metal Teen

For those who have climbed both, does Mama Benson have a harder move than Freakin Deacon? You are pretty fresh for Freakin Deacon, but it sounds like you might have some pump factor on Mama Benson. Aside from the pump factor, which move is harder for you?

Re: Media frenzy!!

I wasn’t implying he should or shouldn’t, and even if I were it wouldn’t matter. Obviously he put in the work so should do as he pleases. I was just wondering how the mind of Adam pleased. IF I were a bolter, such as pigsteak, and bolted something hard that I had been working for a while, sometimes ...
