Re: Pull ups

Forgive my ignorance, but what the heck is a maxi pull, I tried to google it but just got a bunch of pictures of feminine products The Maxi-pull is a feminine product!!! Jokes aside, is this contraption for sloper strength. Don't most hangboard come with a sloper or two on them? My understanding is...

Re: Recovery: What am I missing?

More thoughts on this mythical month off from Steve Edwards: http://steve-edwards.blogspot.com/2010/ ... nt-to.html Of course, Steve is a multi-sport athlete, but he's also one who climbs 5.13+.

Re: Recovery: What am I missing?

Saying that cardio doesn't get you a single thing when applied to climbing imo is just wrong. You run or exercise all winter and I'll train lightly and come spring we'll put that statement to the test. Except that what he said and what you think he said are two different things. He isn't saying car...

Re: 2010 Season

In terms of life, best year so far. In terms of climbing, not so hot. First full year of marriage, wife got pregnant and I lost my belay slave training partner, we bought a house, and had a kid a month ago. I was in decent shape in the spring, climbing 11d in a couple of goes, but lost my fitness wh...

Apparently the slight bit of irony didn't come across in my statement about a "sweet FA".

Re: Ice Climbing potential in RRG?

An expedition was mounted last year, which was a good year for ice. I think the general consensus is that the rock is too steep to support most of the falls, if there is enough runoff and cold temps to get the ice flowing in the first place. Although, you may get lucky here and there. Roadcuts are t...

Re: When do draws left on a warmup become booty?

I don't advocate taking draws that aren't mine, but...

couldn't someone just as easily ask "Why would you ever leave draws on a warmup?"

Re: Hardest sport route for the grade

The G-Man 10c. Been on several 11a routes that I think are easier.

I think most of the 11b and 11c routes at de Bibliothek feel hard.

Re: Hardest sport route for the grade

I'm not rich therefore I don't have that big of a rack...so for me and most people in my situation RA is a 2 pitch climb. Also Diamond lists 2 pitches in the guide and I imagine at least 95% of people climb it in 2. I've been climbing for a while now and I've always understood "multi" to mean "more...

Re: Hardest sport route for the grade

What? Neither Roadside nor Diamond in the Crack are multipitch. I'd just count the first "pitch" of Diamond as part of the approach. I'd say Roadside is spot on rating-wise, I could maybe see Diamond in the Crack being a number grade harder. But most any Day route could be a number grade harder.

They were good about two years ago. Last fall it took forever to get my shoes back. I was pissed. A lot of people are complaining on mountainproject.com as well.
