I vote for nicely constructed, free standing signs on the roadsides at key intersections. This is my vote BUT as I think about the implications, I fear this might invite the thieves back to the southern area. Might help direct them to our cars. Other than the thieves, I can't see how small signs cou...

The zoo is another one of my least favorite crags. I've heard that it has cleaned up some in the last 5 years, but about 5 years ago Pigsteak and I were there and I pulled off a huge hold that just missed piggies head  It was on one of the more popular 5.11's

The main wall of the solar collector might be ugly but the climbing is really fun!!

My least favorite area is purple valley. Nice remote area and the trad is probably ok but other than that...not so good.

Have fun :D

Jeff , check it out, there are signs near the base of left flank and military...not just at the start of the trail. The RRGCC was pretty much forced to put them there because people wouldn't stop building fires and camping at the base of these cliffs. I believe these signs are near the base of othe...

I agree the paint on trees was just plain wrong, but we do have signs at the base of crags in the national forest. Those signs were installed because climbers and non-climbers alike couldn't follow directions and learn the rule for this particular climbing area before they left their cars. So why ar...

Yeah, signs are a tuff thing. We have signs on the national forest land that tells how we are expected to conduct ourselves..ie no fires and such. I agree that signs would help new people find their way, but it does take away from the adventure. I had to wonder around the southern region many times ...
