Re: Ambulance at RS sat night.

With a stick-clip you should never need to take the swing, figure out how to use a stick clip to clean the first draw. As an old crusty climber and someone who gets more and more cynical with each weekend idiot and accident report; if you can't figure out how to safely clean a route, sport or trad, ...

Re: Grid Bolting at the Red

Good words Matt, I like the big picture perspective you have. As the Red goes through these HUGE growing pains, it will hurt less if more people think outside there next redpoint. And yes Pigsteak the undertow wall and pretty much the entire Lode is a grid bolted outdoor gym especially since all the...

Re: Thank You from Muir Valley

Pigsteak is starting to sound like a broken record BUT his idea is on the right track. The only way to deal with the crowds and the lack of their contribution is to limit their numbers to a manageable amount. Set up a system like Dr Bob has at Torrent. Do it on a trial bases and see what happens.

As a side point/observation that sight was an example of what happens when you put a garbage can near a climbing crag without a good managemen...

Re: For those who trained

I agree Clif...this thread does suck. I got motivated to climb after bolting my first route, then I started to setting at the gym and that added to my motivation - other than that, I did a ton of adventure racing this year and that kept me from getting any fatter than the year before. So I did my ro...

Re: Thank You from Muir Valley

Charging to park is a great idea, one I wish the RRGCC could use BUT it is the same as charging to climb in that it will open up the Webers to liability. But don't take my word for it, talk with a lawyer.

Re: anchor draws from the Rifleman

"rationalize petty theft"? How about rationalize petty littering? I think hikers in the DBNF should leave water bottles and what not all along the trails so they don't have to pack out so much water.

Re: anchor draws from the Rifleman

So just two draws on the anchors? That's easy for someone to assume it's booty.
