I'm not sure that I want to spray about my current "project," since I am a terrible project climber, and it seems like every time I get close on something at the Red, the weather and/or weakness steps in and shuts me down. I will say that this past weekend, the crux felt MUCH easier than it did las...

Bruise Brothers at Muir seems to be a destination of choice for easy rainy day climbs, but assuming you are looking for this coming Saturday, Muir Valley would be closed for trail Day.

5.10 wall at Roadside stays pretty dry.

if you still get to the top with 2 hangs its still an onsight correct? There is a formula: Count the total number of bolts (anchors don't count). Divide the total number of hangs by total number of bolts. If the resulting number is less than 0.2, you can report it is an "almost-onsight" o...

Of course it is possible! Haven't you ever heard of "almost-onsight"? Why not "coulda-flash"?

The start felt really hard for me (I'm 5ft tall). It felt like a full-value 5.12 move. However, it is just off the ground, and the rest of the route is much easier, and there are couple no-hands rests... so yeah, it feels slightly ridiculous to call it a 5.12. But I haven't sent it yet, so I should ...

Last minute plea for partners 8/22 and/or 8/23

I am coming down to the the Red this weekend with a group of climbers who are not willing to go where I want to go, but will do just fine on their own, if I can find someone else to climb with. So I am looking for partners-- even for one day... I would like to go to one of the places below: Motherlo...

I will be at the Red September 5/6/7 (Labor Day weekend) by myself, and September 12/13th with my kids, 6 yo girl and 10yo boy.

I don't have partners lined up for either weekend yet, so I'll be happy to join you guys, if you are interested.

There is another ground bee nest at Bruise Brothers. I think it is a new strategy to limit overcrowding.

Are you THAT desperate already, LOL? I have never considered this, but it's an idea to keep in mind! it seems to make more sense, in a way, than hiring a baby-sitter to bring along. B/c with a baby-sitter you need to transport her along with you, provide some sort of accomodations for her to stay fo...
