Re: Gates closed and locked

I am not saying that the RRGCC has stated that access is restricted, but I do believe that not publishing directions is not "full" access. Another question. Would the RRGCC be supportive if a person posted full directions on this site or at all the climbing gyms? I am asking because a lot of people...

Re: Comp at Rocktoberfest 2013?

AND for all you weatherbugs out there, weatherunderground says we are going to have another splendid, dry and comfy week for the fest!! As of today, the long range forecast keeps the rain at 0% from Tuesday through Saturday so far,,, and evening temps in the 50's, mid 70's for the daytime highs. Sen...

Re: Rocktoberfest 2013

Hmmm, that route name seems to fit most routes I try for the first time. But as far as RRGCC board, they do all they can on a volunteer basis and it's well appreciated. Look forward to getting down there by the 8th to investigate the new Miller Fork area, and to fill water balloons for 2 nights once...

Re: Rocktoberfest 2013

Great map,,,that plus quick turn directions in and past the rest area should get them there!! Hope it gets up on RRGCC site for those uninformed and registering for the event.

Re: Rocktoberfest 2013

Ahh, understand. Yes, I guess the RRGCC should get that info posted on their sign up page for the fest. Must be they assume so many are repeaters or familiar with entire area if they climb at the Red. Somebody contact Josephine or other board member to get that updated? We do want to pull in new cli...

Re: Rocktoberfest 2013

Same place the last few years, if you've been there before. Exit the Burt Combs Parkway at Slade exit. Turn right (south) onto Rt 11 and make an Immediate right into the Junior Williamson rest area and again immediately turn left onto a small access road. It will lead you in a couple hundred yards r...

Re: A Very Special Announcement

Is ANY of Miller Fork open to use yet, or just limited to in-progress route developers access? Will a very clear and accurate map be placed here on site for locating it? I'm not down to southern region enough to have any idea where it is. Get the idea it's almost in Beattyville and not near PMRP by ...

Re: Dyno wall Rocktoberfest 2013?

sounds good to me,,,,didn't hurt last year with all the 6th street brews going into us, right before the swinging pushup contest and the arm wrestling. Why not a few shots before a flying leap upon plastic and plywood? Should make money like the water balloons do each year, a nice sum I'd think. You...

Re: Dyno wall Rocktoberfest 2013?

A remember a few sorry comp events, where real winners were robbed of glory due to rules that seemed to change in middle of event. IF the wall is of any interest, why not make it a RRGCC fund raising item? (yes, I know that means more volunteers needed to run it). Open up for 2 hours each evening, b...

Re: Rocktoberfest Event and Volunteer Registration

I'm not signed up to volunteer, but if Spencer and his mob are doing water balloons, I'll be there again to tie up little knots until my fingers freeze over in the cold tub of water. By now we should have perfected our methods to crunch out 8 or 10 balloons a minute I'd think.

Re: Dyno wall Rocktoberfest 2013?

Seems there were also a few rules problems , disqualifications or holds held but not counted, somebody got ripped off in the womens a couple years ago...(besides the totally yanked off launching hold that one year!!)....I'd say the whole concept needs a rework for the comp part of it, if a new wall ...
