El Cap, I likey the bourbon and fire idea for sure. In fact, let's just stay there by the fire with the bottle and handwarmers and screw the climbing in the cold weather. Sounds good to me.

AAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!! Never let twins end your ice climbing goals! Best of luck though.....I know how a new family can put the skids on a climbing lifestyle, for a few years anyway.

Yeah, sounds like it could be the haven of the southern region in seasons to come. Although I doubt it will ever replace the camradarie of Miguels camp.

Anybody been to this Land of the Arches place? I checked their web out. There is a climbing cliff right on premesis, looks to be bolted too. Is it a private chunk of cliff or an extension of a known and public use climbing crag? Anybody know? I tried to call but only got a machine there today. If I ...

Hey, that was my first impression but I read about how good it can be at times, so I'll watch for a stretch of 50 plus weather. Camping at 10 below is the norm for me anyway ( read, 'ice climber') so I just might take the chance this year.

Off width? Add to your checklist... all leather chaps or pants/check. Long sleeve shirt, preferably of leather too/check. Full ankle covering high top shoes/check. Half a dozen rolls of tape applied at various locations as needed/check. A brain bucket on the head/ check! Kneepads and maybe elbow pad...

2008? Yikes. Strange that was the amount it came out to. I agree that a thank you goes out to all those who donated and kept these 2 in their hearts during this last month. Hopefully we never have to consider this again in our futures at the Red.

Yep. If I'm looking for the simplest path of least reisitance, well then why would I be bolting some godawful overhanging face climb in the first place? I'd be following a line of cracks and pockets that I could protect in the fashion of the good ole' days. TRAD rack, on my back. It's a talent, it's...

Driving past the Red without stopping would be tough; kinda like driving by the beer trailor without stopping for a reload. You just can't pass up a golden opportunity when it's right there before you.
