Re: RRG First

We will have to feature you on our online magazine "Catch" Do you have a picture of the actual belaying? It would be nice to go with the article... It's about time there was more recognition to the great job that full time belay slaves perform out there, week in and week out. Belay On, young man.

Re: Mock Drill Cliff Rescue Training

That sounds like a real worthwhile event Rick. Wish I lived 400 miles closer to refresh on these skills with you. Hope you get some locals to jump on board for this one.

Re: Room Rentals at Miguel's

The room I saw back in Oct. was super nice, cozy with massive bedding for warmth I'd suspect. Not sure on any heat, but they are well insulated and should maybe gain some heat from the warm showers below? Either way a great steal for 35 bucks a night; sleeps 4 if you don't mind doubling up.

Where was the Miguels campground stockpile of firearms just when you needed it? Best wishes in getting stuff back when they catch them.

Re: Rescue Training - Litter Packaging and Transport

Sooo, was there a good turnout for the litter package practice , etc. today? If I was 450 miles closer I'd have come to attend.

Re: Rocktoberfest 2010!! what did u think?

Dyno isn't still propped up on your left hand while reaching with the right hand; no air time. Agree holds were set strange and no idea of what points were awarded for doing what, when, now many repeat times allowed, and a final with no scores read off,,,just a sudden decision on who won with no way...

Re: Rocktoberfest 2010!! what did u think?

People arrive ready to enjoy and to be involved right at 5PM. How can registration not be ready for 90 minutes? No entertainment early Friday night ( please start by 7PM at least, not 10:30) was pretty much a bore, and the slow slow start to all the announced events both nights with little or no lig...

Re: Climber Falls from Anchor at the Gunks

I would like to be able to say that if the climber had repelled off the route, he would not have had this happen, since the accident here in the PMRP people said to lower to be safer. But alas, I cannot say that because careless people will make careless mistakes no matter their preferred method of...

Re: Developing at a wall being developed

If you clear the next 30 ft. of trail and spot a pristine line to work, is that kosher or is the entire wall for say next 100 ft. of obvious future lines, still all part of the plans by original developer? Where do you draw the line in the rhotos?

Re: Muir Valley Request

Kick yourself in the Jimmy folks, if that's what it takes to remind yourself to donate each visit. Rick shouldn't have to post up the sad story to remind us of what a great deal we have with Muir in our backyard. Several more from the Chicago group hit Paypal since this afternoon too. Keep it coming...

Re: Muir Valley Request

Paypal achieved. I met up there last weekend with a large group, who split up in different hollows each day. I just put out the plea to them on their website to cough up at least 20 each in gratitude for you allowing us to climb and enjoy the beautiful little 'arch trail' among all the other wonders...

Looks like a nice wall. How long a hike is it from the trail turnoff? Hope to find it first try this weekend.
