In German, "dicke Ohren" (=big ears, but write your own joke) is slang for "nice tits". I'm thinking Meadows said exactly what she meant.

Re: Crack School #5 Placing Cams and Nuts

My big cams never walk because I never let go of them. I just put a #5 in each fist and hand-over-hand up the crack.

No kidding. Do they have a checklist of all the procedures and accessories needed to make sure the belay device will stop a fall?

Re: Shoe resoles

Barge cement is what manufacturers recommend for resoling their own shoes. I've done it and you could do it in your tent if you have a couple tools and an electrical outlet to plug in a heat gun. There are a few critical things to learn, and if you get those down, the rest is just good craftsmanship...

Re: Call for Stories

Here's my WAG: When you hit the ground, muscles on both sides engaged. As the ankle rolled to the outside, the outside tendon was pulling tangent to the bone. But since your foot was collapsed to the inside, the inside tendon was pulling away from the bone and pulled a chip off.

On the advice of a burlier man than I, I quit coffee (caffeine in general) and vastly improved my tendon-injury recovery time. Ymmv.

Re: Kind of exchange with french climbers

Hi Kato It is true that ideally we would like to be at less than 1h30...because we are living in a small country so used to do short distance for a climbing day trip. Anyway if you need info, keep my contact. Thank you! ...and if you need a partner while you're here, PM me. Can't get away too often...

Re: Condensation

I appreciate it, I should have the part I need this afternoon and rolling again. Next weekend there may be a little partying going on for unrelated reasons. But I'll keep you in mind, I'm itching to get out. And I was being sarcastic about the trad, I spend plenty of time on that.

I surely love Climb Time man but this time of year the gym is for training.
I'd be outside myself, but my car is in pieces on the driveway.

Re: Kind of exchange with french climbers

I've spent some time in Orpierre and the Gorges de la Jonte. It was absolutely fantastic (and great mountain biking)- would love to go back someday. Unfortunately, I'm in Cincinnati, so it's about a 2.5 hour drive to the Red- not a great trade :-( . Sounds funny to hear Ceuse described "as famous as...
