Partner 7/23 or 7/24

Looking for a trad partner for this weekend. Have rope/rack.

I'm a newer trad leader, looking to get on up to 5.7 right now. I'm currently thinking Pistol Ridge or Lower Small Wall, but open to suggestions.

Willing to follow harder routes. The most difficult I've followed so far is Andromeda Strain.

Re: FS Road 9B status

Again, I have a hard time reading those maps. I could be mis reading it. I don't see what you're seeing, so I'm guessing it's probably this. My guess is you're interpreting the wilderness zone boundary, and/or the forest boundary as a trail, or you didn't ID the boundary line correctly, and are loo...

Re: FS Road 9B status

I'm just going by the Forest Service map: http://www.redrivergorge.com/pdf/rrg_map_med.pdf And the Forest Service Website: http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/dbnf/recarea/?recid=39460 Generally speaking, being designated a wilderness area with the Wilderness Act prohibits recreational use for mechanized...

Re: FS Road 9B status

ATV's, or any mechanized/motorized vehicles are not permitted in Clifty, just FYI. That means no bicycles too. Not that it impacts getting to Purple Valley. However: "This section of road will remain open for administrative use and public foot travel only". Sounds like walking only, although I bet y...

WTB: DMM Torque Nuts Set

I'm wanting to pick up some hexes to play with and learn to set, mostly just to expand my skill set with passive gear.

DMM Torque Nuts look very appealing. Anyone have a set just sitting around they'd part with for a good price?

May consider a set of WC Rockcentric's too.

Re: FS Road 9B status

Friends of mine went down there a few weeks ago and said it was open. I think it just opened up after Memorial Day.

Thanks for the input! Decided to buy the doubles. Sogned up for the REI credit card and got a gift card for my dividend because the "instant credit" option wasn't working. That plus the $100 gift card for making a purchase with it will buy me the smaller gear later this year!

Smaller 0.4/0.3 C4's or Doubles in 1 and 2?

I'm at the point after following my partners for a while that I want to start leading trad. Unfortunately with the group I climb trad with the partner with most of the gear can't always make it. So I was thinking of picking up a single rack to be able to contribute. My plan was to buy a single rack ...
