Re: treadwall training

Does Ramsey have a treadwall or a different brand that goes steeper? I was talking with someone about him and would be real interested in what type of workout routines he used. They sort of made light of my suggestion that he had a treadwall and stated that he would have had a model that goes much s...

Re: PGA Championship 2010.

just because some participants really suck at it doesn't diminish the quality of the sport, I believe volleyball is a great sport but if anyone watched my 3rd grade daughters team during this last volleyball season they would have a very hard time believing that, same for sport climbing, watch me wo...

Re: PGA Championship 2010.

Mike, I have never seen someone use your definition before. I think this topic is another one that can be defined by the individual. I grew up admiring athletes in football, basketball, track, wrestling, baseball, soccer and most of the olympic sports. I have always felt an athlete should be fast, p...

Re: PGA Championship 2010.

okay pigsteak, I will bite on that line you threw out, first of all disclaimer: I do suck at golf and therefore my ego pushes me to discredit it, okay when a 60 year old nearly wins one of the four biggest competitions in the world (Tom Watson, British Open) and a fat alcoholic out of shape guy regu...

Great work!!! I have a climbing partner who has frequented the Red for years, I tried to talk him into joining the coalition for quite awhile to no avail, I did recently buy him a one year membership to the coalition and hope when it is time to renew that he will feel obligated to continue it. Unfor...

fifteen should be enough unless you plan on hanging draws on more than one route at a time, don't feel too pressured to have everything before you get there as Miguel's has a great selection of gear if you find you need something else, there are a few routes where you might need a 70 meter rope, hop...

going left is the easiest option if you are going to avoid climbing the crack and then it probably is 10b/c face moves, I had my son on it recently and he doesn't have any crack climbing skills and found the face moves to be a bit hard, he is usually pretty solid at 9 to 10a face moves

I would suggest making the parking lot smaller and once it's full then it's closed for the day. I also think you should consider closing the Valley for one or two days a week to give yourself and the valley a break, (and maybe a chance to enjoy the area on your own) On the closed to the public days ...

has it ruined you?

Actually, I think it helped me. Before the ticklist I focused my obsession on being a difficulty number chaser, with the points system and number of routes ticked list as other goals it provoked me into getting on routes to add to those lists that I wouldn't have done before. I found quite a few rou...

I agree with Chriss, but one thing a lot of top roping climbers don't realize is that because they don't need to get into a clipping stance they also can climb different beta and often avoid a crux area by climbing around it, I have belayed people on top ropes and seen them completely circumvent 2 c...
