Re: Sucking at Torrent Falls- Bare Metal Teen

I did BMT in two tries, would have flashed but I tried Andrew's crazy beta. I've never been to the anchors on Mama Benson (in 5 or so tries). That should sum it up!

Re: Rainy day recommendations

Does www.rainydayrockclimbingguides.com have access to Roadside through the preferred partner program?

Re: Eric Horst books

Also, his books try to sell hit strips, which are not sport specific like he suggests. it's not that they aren't sport-specific, right? i think they're okay for super-generic A-E workouts. my problem is they don't do what Horst suggests they do: help build max strength. i don't care how much weight...

Re: Is the FA important?

It's all just a scramble for points. The more routes you bolt the more points you get.

There should be a +10 point premium for the FA's send since the route was probably not cleaned and still covered in drill dust.

Is Team Suck going to set up a trade in your new 5-piece for glue-in's day? I have 3 boxes of Powers bolts. I guess I could sell them on Ebay.

Re: Mountain bike trail

Clifton, don't be a douche.

smgetrost, you can go mountain bike at the old Roadside crag, just don't let Clifton catch you or you'll get your pee pee slapped.

(I would guess PM'ing RRO might net you the answer to your actual question though)

Re: Preseason injury

I've had several people suggest a Flexbar from Thera-Band in the past. It didn't work for me but that was because it turned out that I had biceps tendonitis and I'm just an idiot that couldn't describe the condition accurately.

Re: Trying to understand the bolter's mind...

Perhaps the FA just was learning and didn't want to mess up a classic with a botched bolting job? I see your point about it being at the Lode, but I don't know that we want to go down the path of "your crappy route doesn't belong here in this land of milk and honey".

Re: First visit to RRG soon.. what to expect?

There are no top anchor set ups to speak of at the Red. The expectation is that you will lead the route and set up a top-rope for your partner / group.

Hire a guide from www.redriveroutdoors.com or PM RRO on here. They will make sure your trip isn't wasted.

It's like rain on your wedding day, a free ride when you've already paid, it's the good advice that you just can't take.
