Re: FS Road 9B status

I dont believe ATVs are permitted, but I am not positive on that one. I think clifty wilderness is the only place the atvs are permitted. I could be dead wrong though. http://www.fs.usda.gov/activity/dbnf/recreation/ohv

This section of road will remain open for administrative use and public foot travel only." So ...

Re: Smaller 0.4/0.3 C4's or Doubles in 1 and 2?

You will use the 1 and 2 more but eventually you will need the small pieces. You might say to yourself, "I dont want to fall on this 0.3 anyway" but I can tell you from experience, when its the only option, you will be very thankful you have it.

Re: Crag recommendations with shade and short hike

You can go to the online guidebook and filter routes by the grade and quality. Military wall has fantastic climbs of that grade, but is not in the southern region or Miller Fork

Lowering on anchors.

So I read 2 articles today on facebook. One from American Alpine club and one from the RRG Fixed gear initiative. Both are recommending us lower from the anchors now rather than Rappelling. I have been climbing in the Red for about 8 years now and I have always heard it is more ethical to Rap than L...

Newest North Guidebook

I noticed last weekend the 5th edition of the North Guidebook. I cant really think of any new areas in the North so I was wondering what is new in this version? I have the 4th edition that I bought along with the South version. Is there any reason I need to get the newest North addition?
