Bad bolts reported

Postby Mike Cook » Sat Nov 08, 2014 9:21 am

I haven't seen them- climber at Miguel's says that bolts on "Stunning th Hog" are pulling out- 1/4 to 1/2 inch now, and they are loose- move. Perhaps the third and fourth bolts. Cheers

I was on the route on 11/04 and didn't notice anything wrong with the bolts.

We found a badly placed bolt on Ro Shampo at roadside crag today. It is the second to the Last bolt. The rock below the bolt is super sharp and it cut my girlfriends new Petzl quick draw and she fell much farther than she should have. Either the bolt needs to be moved more to the right or a small chain added to it or the sharp rock filed smooth. This is a dangerous bolt in its current location!!

Did it fully severe the dog bone?

DaveH said that it had been rebolted and that the new bolt was just to the left of the old bolt.

Sharp rock has been smoothed down and as a precautionary measure two quicklinks have been added so that your dogbone will no longer contact that layer of rock. Thanks Ian.
