Dogs

Post by Dares » Thu Mar 12, 2009 8:35 am

Hello, i know this subject is much debated but i'm having a hard time with searching throught the forums on it. I know that dogs are banned @ Muir, but is there anywhere else that i should be aware of? Can anyone apply for a dog permit through the webers or is it more of a close friend type of deal?

I have a 6 month old lab that i am thinking about bringing with me for Easter weekend. Wanted to get feelings from other dog owners etc. I always keep her leashed mainly for her safety as she is still a puppy and will get into trouble. Anyways had a great time last year in the Red, definatley worth the 11 hour drive.

Thanks,
Travis

Muir is the only place that has restrictions in the gorge (other than the usual, keep them on a leash etc). Not sure how the permissions work exactely but it seems to be for people who have given a lot of their time/energy developing Muir or have some other special arrangement through the Weber's.

If you're bringing a dog, mark Muir off the list unless you plan on leaving it in your car or something which kinda sucks for the dog. Just go anywhere else and you'll be fine.
all you haters die slow.

Dogs are great. But it's best to leave them home if possible. There are just to many of them not on a leash and not under control.

shoot, if you can't control your dog long enough to keep me from kicking it, then it doesn't need to be there. I got a new pair of steel toed boots just for the season.

My dog has just as much right to be there as you do! All this crap about additional impact and getting in the way is just that, crap.

Dogs yappin while you are trying to send.... too bad.
Dogs dragging yesterday's lunch back from around the corner at the crag.... too bad.
Piss on your rope? Too bad!

Be careful you hipsters... I taught my dog to bite anyone that smells like patchouli.
