Dog Bit by Copperhead on Jailhouse Rock
Re: Dog Bit by Copperhead on Jailhouse Rock
A trustworthy vet isnt gonna have a problem giving you the meds to take home, the trouble would be storage. Most of these meds need to be kept in the fridge, which makes it tough to keep stored in a pack

Thinking in my cooler in a car would be good
Re: Dog Bit by Copperhead on Jailhouse Rock
Our GusGus was bit by one once in the New and when we talked to the Vet before we took him in he said to stop and by some Benedryl. We did so and within an hour he was completely fine wanting to play with other dogs in the vets office. Most dog owners in the RRG should keep Benedryl in their packs for such things

Would not recommend epinephrine unless the reaction is anaphylactic. Copperhead bites are almost never fatal in humans and larger dogs. Rattlesnake bites, on the other hand...

whoa, that is some good documentation on that rattlesnake bite. i have to admit i'm a little more nervous to go tromping about in the woods after seeing those pics.
efil lanrete... i enjoy the sound, but in truth i find this seductively backward idea to be quite frightening

Glad your dog's life was worth jeopardizing the lives of everyone else on the road.milspecmark wrote:mountain parkway at 125 mph

I knew I couldn't have been the only asshole thinking that...

Agreed... I know its a dog you love but how are you going to feel when you kill someones child driving like that? Glad your dog was okay and you didnt kill anyone in the process.

You must not drive on mountain parkway much. I actually got passed. And I am sorry you suck at driving. Lol. Not really going to explain much else if you think that.

Btw, my wife is a nervous nelly in the car and she was keeping me in line while driving. 125 mph was not consistent, it was only when we could see a mile in front of us of clear road and no traffic. Believe me, no children's lives were at stake. And she laughed at you guys.

125 seems reasonable
training is for people who care, i have a job.

You got passed doing 125?.... Bullshit. Its only a 9 pound dog anyway, not even like its a real dog.milspecmark wrote:You must not drive on mountain parkway much. I actually got passed. And I am sorry you suck at driving. Lol. Not really going to explain much else if you think that.

Let's just say that my wife and kids, my extended family, and a lot of friends and acquaintances drive that road daily, as well as myself. Slow yourself down. Your dog's life is not worth someone else losing a human loved one.milspecmark wrote:You must not drive on mountain parkway much. I actually got passed. And I am sorry you suck at driving. Lol. It's ironic that someone who was going on about driving 125mph would insinuate that someone else sucks at driving. Maybe when you visit other places you should have a little more consideration for those around you.

I dont think you understand the skill required to press the accelerator down while driving in a straight line. Hopefully one day we can be the skilled driver Mark is!Ascentionist wrote:It's ironic that someone who was going on about driving 125mph would insinuate that someone else sucks at driving.
Re: Dog Bit by Copperhead on Jailhouse Rock
125 mph in a car while you've got adrenaline going due to a dying loved one probably does feel slow so its not surprising that she'd feel that way despite her normal preferencesmilspecmark wrote:Btw, my wife is a nervous nelly in the car and she was keeping me in line while driving. 125 mph was not consistent, it was only when we could see a mile in front of us of clear road and no traffic.
