If it isn't about showing off.....then why are you spraying it?

It sounds like you were talking about free soloing. I solo every few months, but I use a soloist. Sometimes it's cool to do your own thing and be more self-reliant.
edit- g-dammit, I didn't type "an soloist".

TK, when someone else mentioned that you soloed Creature Feature, my first thought was that it would have been cool to watch. Immediately after I realized that it would be far too stressful to watch, because I would be worried about you (or anyone) doing this.
More power to you I guess if you want to solo, but I think it's a ridiculous risk. You also put anyone in the vicinity in the position of potentially being involved in a rescue or even worse, witnessing your death should the worst happen. I think it's selfish to be perfectly frank, since you asked.

If someone starts free soloing at a crag where I'm climbing, I'm pack up my stuff and leave. I have seen what a 60 foot fall does to the human boday and it ain't pretty.

I'd get into big trouble now, with a baby on the way! Gretchen gets mad when I start climbing before she's on belay even though I won't be "on" until the first bolt anyway.

Soloing is selfish and stupid. How easily can you trip getting out of the tub or walking up some stairs. And even that sometimes kills people.
Don't solo in front of me. Don't brag about it because I'll read you the riot act. If it is something you do for yourself...then shut the hell up about it.

.
So, wouldn't that make taking a bath or walking up stairs selfish and stupid?
People get killed far more by other kinds of climbing issues. So, please, no one ever clean anchors or rap in front of me. If you do, I swear I will leave the crag.
What a bunch of P.C. pussies.
