yes, cool shots.. i am a bit bitter about the alex puccio ones... i think those photos were taken the weekend of hound ears, and her ass-hole photographer yelled at me because i topped out a problem that apparently ended right where they were photographing her, and i messed up the shot. i got scrappy! don't photograph pose shots during a comp, damnit! (although alex was cool, and the shots they chose were from elsewhere in boone anyways)

Yelled at you. You should have shoved the camera up his ass.

those shots kinda sucked ass in my opinion. Stupid ass posed shit. I cant believe those girls went for it. Not to mention that they dont really show the climb "life" and what not. But cool that it was in NY Times for sure.

lol F-you! definitely almost slipped out.... guess them big city folks just don't know no better....
definitely a cool concept to feature women though, even if the photos were posed (steph davis magically laying on yosemite or whatever that photo was, clearly was not natural). i guess any publicity is good....

A good start to a pretentious coffee table book. Although the one with the head poking out of the water was comedy gold, probably would work better in a televangelist brochure.

I think they are nice photos, but that they don't really show anything that is special about climbing. I mean, you could have taken any athletic female and gotten 95% of those shots. So, I would have liked to have seen more "action" type photos of these athletes, along with the nice, arty posed B/W stuff.

I saw the guy shooting at Hound Ear's, and you could tell he was not going to be getting the good, standard climbing photos. He had a tripod, film SLR's and and assistant that would blow the dust of the lens before each shoot, whilst blinding everyone that was climbing nearby with a big reflector. Pretty much seemed to not care that there was a comp with other people going on around him.

The one with Steph Davis in the Merced was the only one I really liked. I thought the reflection of El Capitan was a really good vehicle to portray having one's life immersed in climbing - and that cliff in particular.
