The last time i was on that thing there was hornets nest the size of a football. couldnt see it from the ground. freaked me out. luckily it was cold out. i thought the way it was bolted give a little rope drag.

Looks like I'll have to do this and Sand as they are the only two routes at Roadside I haven't done yet, besides the slabs and cracks back near Andromeda Strain. Are you sure you are not pulling my leg? Have you been on Sand? How about the upper pitch of Strevels? I haven't been on that either. Have you H-F? I am sure they are all Quality?!?!?!?! :?
Did you take that nasty old webbing off the first bolt? That has been bugging me for years.

I was on Strevels years back. Its probably a little dirty from lack of traffic, but it is good rock. definitely worth doing.

Thanks for the beta... I think that the next time I am there I will definitely try the upper pitch of Strevel's and who knows maybe even Eric and Brian's Stupid Adventure too...then once I have gone completely mad I'll do Sand! Done that one yet H-F?

Horatio Felacio,

Off the subject, but I did The Dinosaur last night and man it kicks @$$. Come to think of it that entire wall at Left Flank rocks. I don't know why nobody gets on it. Did you do the undercling move at the 3rd bolt or go out right on the crimps?

One thing I have learned is never take other peoples word on route quality. What one person considers a "pile" another may really enjoy. Climb it and form your own opinion. Only then can you really tell someone what you think of a climb. Of course you can look at some routes from the ground and tell that they are no good, but again you really have to climb it to know.

A good example is Way Up Yonder at Roadside. I have heard for years that the top pitch was loose crap and no fun...when in fact the rock is great and exposure is even better... just climb it.

Your right...second pitch of up yonder is great!! I thought it was crap the first time I saw too. I guess I'll check out Eric and Bryans Excellent Adventure next time I'm at roadside!!
