What are your favorite sport routes in the 5.11 range to climb in the winter?

Gotta be ROCS because climbing that snotty ramp at the bottom is fun in the summer, but when it is an ice covered mess, it is super exciting!

Too bad you can't go do it, you know, with the land being climber owned and all.

Anything in the sun at about 2 in the afternoon, which would rule out the two previously mentioned.

Torrent is a decent choice. If you get there early you can climb over by Seek the Truth and then roll over to the 11 wall in the afternoon.

Indy Wall is really nice on sunny days as long as it's not dripping off the top, so just think about what the weather has been doing. The slabs on the far left side are super good.

Solar collector is good in the morning thru mid day, a few 11's over there and then bounce to get on the 11+ routes over at Gold Coast. No Fluff is super fun (clip the first, seemingly ridiculous bolt for the belayer's sake when you're cleaning) and Red Shift...well, is super hard but really fun. I don't think Highway Turtle and the other thing over there get sun.

The Crossroads gets sun until 1 or 2. Lots of technical 11's over there and a few pumpers.

Bob Marley gets great sun in the cave and those 11's are pretty good. The left side of the wall will get sun until mid day, same with Drive By. That new stuff at Drive By, I think it'll get afternoon sun, don't know exactly where they are.

The playground has a couple 11's and it gets pretty good sun.

The 11's at the Lode get good sun until 1 or so. If you've never done those, they'll keep you occupied for a day or two. Breath Right is a pretty neat route. I haven't done the new routes to the left of the 11 wall there yet but I hear good things.

Left Flank gets great sun on the wall with Aquaduct Pocket on it. The left and middle route are pretty good, the right one is kinda tough for the grade but good.

Great Wall gets great afternoon sun and the 11s up there are pretty fun, same with the hideaway. Earthsurfer is a bit tough/weird but Apothesis Denied is a great route to get on in cold weather (and a horrible one to get on in hot weather).

Chocolate Factory. Warm up on the right side by Oompa and Loompa then slide left as the day goes by. The area by Wobbler and One Side Makes You Taller gets great mid-day to afternoon sun and those routes offer a good variety. The stuff further left of that is good but I'm not sure when it gets sun, morning to mid day i think.

Admittedly biased, but... Warmup at Solar then Crown of Thorns at Bright Side in afternoon.... Broiling hot there!

The new routes at Drive By would be good candidates too.

Funk rock, but the river crossing sucks in the cold.

I'm glad Kipp and crew bolted some new ones so that I don't actually have to get into shape for my trip this spring!
