Quantum Physics

Post by lucybeva » Sun Oct 21, 2012 1:00 am

What is the greatest discovery in quantum physics? As I understand, quantum physics was discovered around a hundred years ago by Albert Einstein and Max Planck. As Im no physicist, but try to understand the best I can, what is the greatest discovery so far? and what discoveries can we expect from physics in the next hundred years?

Troll?

answers for this on a climbing forum...
-the invention of cams
-gravity
-sticky rubber
-dynamic ropes
-the calculation of impact force and fall factor

The greatest discovery is that there is and is not a greatest discovery. Don't meddle in these things, for you won't like what you find.

consider Pigsteak. he maintains an indeterminate waveform until forced to choose a path of least resistance, upon which the observer is cited as having undue influence and as being inseparable from the event. or Rick Weber, whose statistical analysis defies reality as we experience it.

There is a simple answer to your question. Google.

Well the Nobel prize winner this year figured out how to tell if schroedinger's cat is alive or dead. This will lead to quantum computing which will be a great or dreadful discovery depending on who's using it. As far as greatest so far... first thing that comes to mind, lasers?
