What other sports can you do that in?

All the fanboi stuff and facebook page creation will put an end to that. Keep climbing poor, weird and stupid.

All of them, it's just that you suck, so you can "rub"their shoulders. And why the hell were you rubbing Adam Ondra's shoulders?

let's be clear here...we do NOT participate in the same arena...put a little league fence next to the nachos at yankee stadium and now we are all derek jeter? now, go to some sanctioned indoor comp and compete in the same open division, now you are in the same arena....I think right now we'd be called, er, fluffers.
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.

My point is this:

If Federer is playing tennis, do you think I can walk on to the court beside him?
If Tiger is golfing, ya think I am gonna be in the foursome behind him?
How about swimming in the lane next to Phelps?

It is not that we are the same level of these guys, it is just that outdoor climbing is a venue that is not controlled in the same way of many other sports.

I know Piggy, I know... of course rock climbing isn't really a sport.

Piggy's point (I think) is that in your scenario Tiger, Phelps and Federer are competing. I'm not going to walk up on stage at the climbing nationals and feel out the starting moves while they are competing. If Tiger visits a public course then yes, you could be in the foursome behind him. Haha, foursome behind him.

Carry on.

Bahhaaahaaa, Tiger playing a public course that I could get on to. Now, it might happen once to someone, somewhere... but it sure as hell ain't common.

However, I can be climbing Loompa, while Ondra is onsighting Pure Imagination.

Plus, when he is done "competing" there are no special passes required to get with in a 1000 feet of the guy.

Different.

I hear ya Ian and that's just how today was. Totally chill day, no ball cupping, just people enjoying being out climbing.
I was glad to see a major crusher enjoying Kentucky sandstone.

Maybe no ball cupping, but there sure as hell had to have been some tongue action on those boys.
Skipping cruxes is a way of life.
